Linux Journal Linux International Announce Linux Anthem Contest
Richard Vernon, Editor in Chief of Linux Journal, gave a brief description of the contest, "The idea is to come up with an official song that will be integrated into Linux distributions, and the judging will be done by the Linux community."
"Linux International(SM) is proud to co-sponsor the Linux(R) Anthem Contest," said Jon "maddog" Hall, Executive Director. "We need to show the world that Linux is fun: fun to work on, and fun to work with. What better way than to involve the estimated 7,500,000 Linux users around the world in creating an anthem for Linux? To allow our users to sing out about their favorite operating system?"
Richard Vernon and Jon "maddog" Hall will both participate in a series of discussions to take place at Linux Lunacy, a conference produced by Linux Journal and Geek Cruises that is currently underway. These sessions, to which all Linux Lunacy attendees are invited, will begin the contest development process. Contest developments and news will appear on the Linux Journal web site, http://www.linuxjournal.com/.
